Rafay Rashdi is an award-winning Pakistani screenwriter, producer and director.

After graduating from City University London, UK and Ryerson University, Canada, Rafay decided to follow his passion and produced his debut feature film Thora Jee Le in 2017, which is currently streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime (US & UK).

Rafay Rashdi has also produced 15 television drama serials for Hum TV and Urdu 1, out of which three — Rangreza, Dildaarian, Baandi — were nominated for Hum Awards. He was also the producer of the first ever Pakistan International Film Festival (PiFF) which exhibited more than 50 feature films and catered to filmmakers from U.S.A, South East Asia, India. He is a member of the managing committee for Pakistan International Film Festival (PiFF) – Women’s Edition 2021.

Apart from being a filmmaker, Rafay has also done digital PR and marketing for Pakistan feature films such as Parwaaz Hai Junoon and Superstar for HUM Films.

Rafay has also produced and directed a government specialized documentary focusing on all over Sindh on water issues and in coordination with the World Bank and the Water Sector Improvement Project (WSIP).

Recently, Rafay Rashdi has worked in Canada with international broadcast networks such as CP24, CTV, TLN, Rogers and Bell Media on promoting Princess Margaret Cancer Research fund-raising program for cancer patients.

Rafay Rashdi is also a successful inductee of the Film Union Association IATSE Local 411 of Motion Pictures & Television Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He has also contested for general elections in Pakistan for the provincial assembly of Sindh in 2013 and 2018.

Rafay Rashdi also runs a digital online channel show titled: “Behind The Curtain with Rafay Rashdi”, which promotes independent filmmakers, writers, producers and technical experts from all over the world to have sessions on technological advancements trends in the world of television, digital and cinema. Behind The Curtain with Rafay Rashdi is the first digital talk show of the Pakistani origin to make it to the OTT platform of Amazon Prime’s Prime Video. It is exclusively available to audiences in United States of America and United Kingdom.
